Declaration: “I, Temperence hereby declare that the poem submitted by me is an original one and I accept the judges’ decision that my entry will be disqualified if proven otherwise.”
I close my eyes, hoping for peace:
I find none.
Vivid dreams burn my closed eyes
Nightmares, fears, doubts materialise
It all comes back.
Uncertainty shakes me, wish I were awake!
I cling to false faith or else might break.
Nothing is true.
Reality is the hardest thing to face
There's no perfect, it's all a mad race.
I miss you.
I feel I've lost you, but don't know for sure
The night threatens me, my heart's sore.
I ask, 'Why?'
It's my fault it's happening to me,
You know nothing! Life's biggest irony.
Who are you?
I adored you, I worshipped you.
I tried to hide it, but you more than knew.
You came to me.
It was so beautiful, I know you agree
But it was nothing. Nothing concrete.
Just fantasy.
