Blue waters of life and fate,
Sea shore with glistening sands of time;
Here I walk step by step ahead,
Caressed by the breeze of love and care.

A moment, unsure and confused,
I look back to check my footprints;
And lo! behold a treasure chest,
That's followed me all the way I've come.

Trembling hands and curious eyes,
I bend down and open the chest.
A soothing song, that holds me rapt,
Oh, my mothers first lullaby......

I peep Inside, lulled by her song,
And I feel her kiss on my brow...

Then the warmth of my father's hand,
Which I gripped on and learnt to walk.

Grand parent's bed time stories ...
The rabbit I looked for in the Moon,
Silly games of hide and seek and -
Little secrets shared with my  brother.

A peacock feather hid in a book,m
My old and torn funny teddy bear;
Jokes and pranks shared with friends,
And annoyed looks of teachers too...

Darkening clouds and colours of rainbow,
Fireworks of thunder and Lightning.
Smell of Earth after first shower;
Water drops trickling down windowpanes....

Midnight oil burnt with textbooks,
A hot cup of coffee with dancing steam,
Little worries, sobs and sniffles..
A bit of fighting tooth and nail.

Red roses and water lillies;
And smiles of all my beloved ones.
All neatly packed and stored inside
Like Gold, Rubies and Diamonds....

A teardrop of ecstasy rolling down,
Now a cherished pearl inside the box.
Smile of satisfacton, I close the box,
My prized treasure chest-
                                 Of Memories.....

  1. hello, Is it important to keep medium of poem as English? Can't it be In Hindi?

  2. This one is exclusively English, since there are other domains available for Hindi articles. You definitely can translate to English from any regional language, but in that case the copyright goes to both the author and the translator of the article.
